Not as choice as Thursday. Walker traffic has increased and snow has deteriorated. Skiing in walker lane requires either good balance or wider skis. Plenty of fresh still off to the sides, though it is getting fairly dense with warmer temps. Fresh snow in Iowa keeps about as well as a Wal-Mart peach.
Sunday ski is still a go if classic folks are interested in hitting this one this year. Steep stair run (1st left from woodpecker side) is doable but insane. Medium stair run (second left from woodpecker) is possible and fun, but spicy. Shallow stair run (third left from woodpecker) is an easy go. Wicked Stair Squire Side run (first right from squire) is doable, not much fun, and extremely dicey--snowpack too shallow. Map from Thursday's post still stands. If you're a beginner do yourself a favor and stay off to the sides in the fresh snow, even though it's slower going than in the walker track--the creamy fresh should be why you came out anyway.
