Just got in from skiing and thought I would update conditions. As I predicted, there was a bit of drifting in the open areas, mainly the hill at the far north end of the course. Striders have skied most of the classic track back in where there was any drifting.. There is about an inch of fresh snow on the skating lane, but it's still quite fast. I was skating today and had a Start glider rated at 20 to 27 degrees, and I was gliding really well and the air temp was only 15 F.
Temp tomorrow (Sunday) will be colder, about 10 F, but the winds are supposed to be low. Most of our trails are sheltered or in the woods, so it should be good skiing; come and see us! Bring hot chocolate!
