Ashton - Iowa City 12PM

Ashton - Iowa City 8AM-12PM, 24 degrees, wind - NW 15, misting at times.
Ashton has been groomed but no classic track has been set due to lack of snow. A couple more inches should be sufficient to set a good classic groove.

Skate wise I can't really say until it sets up. I'm thinking it will firm up quickly as there wasn't that much snow fall. The mist coming down while grooming could make the surface very fast, here's hoping!!!

Beware the NE and N-NW sides of Ashton as MidAmerican has been marking the ground and will be working on a gas project. Don't hesitate to ask them to try and stay off the groomed snow when skiing. They will be crossing at the south entrance to Ashton and crossing the ski trail a few times. Once they established their path I'll probably do something different with the ski trail layout so heavy truck traffic doesn't destroy the trail.  Brett
