Thanks to all of you Ames skiers who have been patient concerning the less than ideal conditions at Carr Woods so far this season. Due to work obligations I have not had much of a chance to get out there and whip those trails into shape. Some people had noticed the lack of trail width and the placement of the classic tracks in the center of the skate lane in the woods. The reason for that is someone had to fill in for me last week in my absence, they likely hadn't done the much grooming in the past . I do thank them and appreciate their efforts - it's better than having no groomed trails! But I am happy to report I did get out and roll 100% of the trails this morning before things got too wet out there. With the temps dropping again and hopefully a little bit of fresh stuff in a few days, I'll be back out there to break up the crust and set new classic tracks over the entire system.
