While we wait for good groomable snow, the golf courses can supply some good classic skiing. Cedar Rapids received about 4" of snow today so I put on my ski clothing, grabbed my skiis and poles, opened the back door, and skied to my neighborhood golf course.The snow was powder and made for very low resistance in establishing a track. The winds were non-existent as a few flurries settled to the ground. The temperature was around 20 degrees and I had no problems with sticking snow. The day made for a very nice start to the season.
