As you may have heard Big Creek is now up and ready with both a skate lane and classic track throughout the trail system. I wasn't able to get out until sundown yesterday but Kevin & Tom had it ready Thursday night.
The skate lane has good coverage but in many places it is very soft and subsequently it seemed pretty slow. Although, that may have been at least partially a wax issue as I wasn't ready for 13 degree temps.
I didn't classic but I did talk to a couple of folks who were enjoying the track and they had big cheery smiles. They were skiing waxless so no report on what kick wax they used. From what I could see there was some grass poking through but not enough to be of consequence.
All in all, really good conditions so get out and enjoy.
