starts at the southeast parking lot at Briggs Woods Park Lake and is a 3 kilometer loop across the dam, through the woods, and then back along the lake on part of the Boone River Trail. The snow is 2" of new powder on top of about an 8" base.
The second trail starts in Webster City by the parking lot at the east end of Ohio St. at the entrance to 7B Ranch. I groomed the 3 mile section of the Boone River Trail out to the lake parking lot in Briggs Woods. There are two 30 foot sections of almost bare concrete under the bridge where US 20 crosses the trail, but otherwise the trail is packed and tracked powder.
the third trail is a 4.3 kilometer race course on the east side of the Briggs Woods Public golf course. It starts at the south end of the clubhouse parking lot near the golf cart sheds. (See small sign.) After the rain, thaw, and blizzard, the trail was partially re-groomed today, but has some icy and drifted sections. I hope to finish the grooming by the weekend. The trail is well marked with over 300 flags. Keep orange on your right and green on your left.
