Ashton - Iowa City Groomed as of 8:30AM

Ashton - Iowa  City; Temp (-7), Wind NW 5-10 mph, skate lane medium soft to medium, classic track(s) new or reset.

At 5:30AM I  groomed the skate lane and cleaned up the tracks. If the skaters will try to wait until after 10:00AM the skate lane should have set up somewhat. Very cold temps speed up the settling process and we should have some decent skiing. It's still going to take another grooming session or two to get the air out of the snow for a firm surface.

Two new classic tracks have been set so get your groove on traditional skiers. I've moved both the skate lane and classic tracks inward. I've been trying to get the classic tracks on some well compressed deep snow and I think I've got what I wanted.

Now if we can keep the walkers, hikers, joggers, runners, snowshoers, and puppy dogs off the groomed ski trails. Seriously folks, help me out here and ask the afore mention parties to do their thing elsewhere as the snow is fleeting - Brett
