Ashton - Iowa City, temp 20, wind SSW 10-15
The skate lane was medium in firmness and not setting up as well as I would like. I wasn't dropping through when polling and the glide was OK, just not quite there yet. Better go race tonight and get out early tomorrow and the following mornings while the temps are up as the skating will really stink once the mercury goes over 28.
A good number of classic skiers out compacting the groove this morning. I didn't see anyone flying about but all I talked to were happy with the mornings new classic tracks.
