Ashton - Iowa City, 12:30 AM

Ashton - Iowa City, 12:30AM - temp 25, wind SE 5, thick freezing fog.

Worked up the skate lane at Ashton in the fog this morning and past evening. It was a 3 pass session to break up the surface and smooth it out. Should be pretty good skating if the temp stays down for 3-4 hours. Note: There is a course change on the East side of the course when skiing. The wind blows the snow off the up/down hill, I've moved the trail towards the center of Ashton on the corner by the cross over.

The classic lanes are static until we get more snow. The grooves are the most compacted snow on the course and there isn't much to play with. If I start working the classic track aggresively to beak it up what snow is there will get pushed off the trail. If someone thought to being a shovel and toss a little snow on the thin spots that would help. I was unable to see much with the dark and fog so sorry for not getting any snow moved on the classic grove.

Go ski and enjoy, Brett
