Ames Carr Woods clean up

I inspected the trail on Thursday afternoon by skating around on the ice and falling down a lot. There are a lot of sticks and branches, mostly small stuff, all over the trails. It's enough to block the path in some areas. It would take a LOT of snow to cover it all up. And, if all that debris gets packed into the base we'll be encountering it for weeks in the spring when we could otherwise be skiing between thaws. If we only get a few inches of snow we wont be able to ski at all and we'll have a really tough time picking sticks up.

I'm planning to get out on Sat and/or Sunday (before the predicted snow Sun night and Monday) and try to clean up the worst of it. I'm hoping for other volunteers to help. I think it would take only a couple hours if we had half a dozen people. I think those large lightweight poly rakes would be the ideal tool.

If anyone wants to coordinate with me to form a team send me email at wby0nder at aol dot com or call me at 515 451 1068
