MNRA & Ashton, grooming guidelines

Possibly it is here, we'll have to wait and see around the Iowa City area. At this time the grooming sled for MNRA (McBride) is in the shop and should be turned around pretty quick so be patient with the grooming for McBride (MNRA). Ashton will be worked depending upon the type of snow that falls and the amount that falls, not to mention what the wind does. After that we'll try to get the sled out to MNRA and to some trail work out there.

Grooming guidelines;
Grooming/Tracking Rule of Thumb (ground must be frozen or the sleds dig into the soil):
3” or more – trails are rolled. 4-5” – trails can be groomed unless the snow has very little moisture (i.e. powder – which rarely happens in the Midwest above 0). 6” or more – tracks can be set.
