CEDAR RAPIDS - Squaw Creek

Great skating this morning..........firm and way fast. As the temperatures warmed up it created the problem of warming snow and then colder snow in the shady spots. This led to the effect of right wax.....wrong wax......right wax.......wrong wax. Fast spots interspersed with slow spots, which led to some interesting falls that I'm glad nobody was around to see. By 12:00 it was time to get off the trail as it was starting to sustain damage from the skiing. I'm afraid this trail, and many others, will need some new snow after today.
