Big Creek trail report

Sunday, January 25, 2009 – The Big Creek x-country skiing trail received a surprise 3.5" of beautiful powdery snow this morning. The trail was groomed for classic and skate skiing by noon. Conditions in the afternoon were very good for both skiing techniques. The wind was light or absent, and abundant sunshine made for a great ski day. The trail received fairly heavy use, but at the end of the day classic tracks were still firm and deep in most sections of the trail. The skating track has a layer of soft packed new snow over a very solid base. It should ski very nicely well into next week
